Cluj – access
The city of Cluj is linked with the rest of the country and of Europe through an international airport, an international train station and an international bus station.

Tarom www.tarom.ro (Romanian National carrier – offers domestic and international routes; the international routes from Cluj are operated via Bucharest, except for Vienna – Cluj has a direct flight with a few times a week).
Lufthansa www.lufthansa.com (Lufthansa operates flights from Munich to Cluj, twice daily – with connecting flights to virtually everywhere)
Wizzair www.wizzair.com – low cost airlines (it links Cluj with: London, Paris, Amsterdam, Bruxelles, Dortmund, Barcelona, Valencia, Zaragoza, Madrid, Milan, Rome, Bologna, Bari, Tel Aviv)
We would recommend flying into Cluj or taking the train via Budapest, since the train ride from Bucharest can be quite lengthy.
The city center can be reached from the airport by public transportation (bus nr. 8) or by taxi (about 25-30 RON – 6-7 eur).
Cluj train station operates a wide network of trains to all directions in Romania, and also has 4 trains a day to Budapest (7 hours ride). The train from Bucharest to Cluj takes about 10-11 hours.
International train tickets for Romania can be bought abroad from train agencies. Tickets from Bucharest to Cluj can be bought at Bucharest station. Eurolines connects Cluj with many cities in Western Europe. Orangeways (low cost bus carrier) also connects Cluj with Budapest daily.
